it's all about zara.

Just a quick post today because I have been very busy. School, work, doing a major cleaning overhaul in the house (yes, I am actually cleaning the house)...but can I at least say that I am so so crazy worked up because I can finally shop online at Zara today! I already have several things on my wishlist...but I always like to wait a few days and come back to it to make sure that I really like it. In the store, I'm such an impulsive buyer so sometimes I buy things too quickly and don't end up liking it as much as I originally thought...bad for my closet and my bank account. But I love fall clothes so I'm kind of in love with everything...ah, the decisions will be hard to make.  I'm also really excited because I got the cutest gold-pink Orly nail polish...there is nothing like a little glitter to brighten my day. :)

And I have a really great announcement to make..many congrats to my cousin Sara and her husband Tim, who have just had their second daughter, Clara!! I have the biggest soft spot for any and all babies, so I cannot wait to meet her!

Just a little preview...I am so happy to say that my English friend Eleanor that I met while abroad is helping me with my next post! She has lots of new fashion and music from "across the pond" that I'm writing about...already listened to all of the music and I am obsessed!! Don't get me started on the fashion, London was almost too much too handle- everyone was well-dressed and stunning so I am glad to have a few new places to look.

Have an amazing day! For all those in Omaha- go out an enjoy the amazing weather we are having !!

birthday cheers.

I can't believe I am 22, I feel so old! This birthday weekend was so fun. I was lucky enough to start my weekend on Wednesday night this week, when Heidi and I went to the Ke$ha and LMFAO concert- definitely as "sleazy" and fun as we thought it would be. Thursday night, I went out with a few friends just to celebrate my birthday at midnight but decided not to get too crazy since Gina and I had our big birthday party on Friday. My favorite phone call of the weekend came that night when Anthony, my long lost friend from New Jersey called me and said, "What are you doing? What are you drinking? Wait. Just tell me you are out at a bar and that you are drinking tequila, even if you're not." It's those little things that make you smile. :) After I got off of work on Friday, I headed downtown to Stiles to meet my friends, which seems to be our new favorite place to be on Friday nights! I thought I would celebrate in true Sevillana style and drink only tequila, which would turn out to be a really terrible idea as I was basically incapacitated the next day after ending up at Whiskey Tango for the rest of the night. Saturday was the beginning of Husker football, the best season of the year in Nebraska...everyone was wearing red (obvi). Sunday was mostly a relaxing day, going to a Creighton men's soccer game where they worked it like a boss, winning 3-0. I did make it out to celebrate Gina's birthday at midnight and buy her a few shots and sing some classics like NSYNC. That night was mostly memorable due to a very drunk girl in the bathroom rambling on to one of my friends-just a hint, you don't need to be talking about your "sleeping habits" we'll call them, to the whole world. Especially not when all the people you are yelling about are right outside the door...Anyway, Monday was spent at the lake which we had absolutely beautiful weather for and made me remember why fall is my favorite season! I can't wait to spend more time outside this week :)

birds of a feather.

Lately I've been obsessing about feathers. I bought my first feather earrings right before I left for the summer, and have since acquired two other sets! I love that they are so lightweight to wear but add an interesting twist to my outfit. And since I wasn't really into putting a feather into my own hair like everybody else, it was a nice alternative.

The green pair are currently my favorite...since I have so many neutrals in my wardrobe, it's definitely a nice change to add such a bright color. I bought them in Munich at this cute boutique that I wish I could find online...but it is looking like I won't be able to get anything from there until I go back. :(

I have been searching forever for a small clutch to take out because I'm not a big fan of cross-body purses (the bigger the purse is, the more I carry). I could not find anything I liked anywhere, even in Europe, until I was shopping in Von Maur a couple of days ago and found the best Ralph Lauren clutch! It is the cutest shade of taupe and I love it! It is going to go so well with all my gold jewelry and I basically just built around it for my birthday outfit. :) The best part? The fall collection of purses is just coming in and everything is on sale, so I basically feel like I stole this with the discount that I got!

Pictures from my weekend are coming soon! So nice to have the extra day this week...Happy Labor Day!

ALSO, I am absolutely excited because I found out the best news...starting Wednesday, Zara will be available to shop and order online in the USA!! Now, if only H&M would follow...

when in rome...

Roma!

We took the morning train to Rome, which ended up being an absolute pain. From the train to metro to our hostel took us absolutely forever! Although we were pleasantly surprised that our bed and breakfast was the cutest thing! Free snacks, a large refrigerator, and a really nice bathroom. Our room was definitely small for five girls, there were clothes everywhere! Admitedly mostly mine. :) We walked around St. Peter's Square for a while, went to a grocery store to get some wine and food, and napped (looks like that Spanish lifestyle really got to us). Then we had the most amazing, beautiful night in Italy, drinking wine on the Spanish Steps and throwing our coins into the Trevi Fountain for luck. I managed to talk one of the Italian taxi drivers into letting five girls in a four person car, no big deal :). We met some very funny gentlemen on the streets that night, it's funny what boys will say to you when they are trying to get your number to hang out...(but let's be honest, there are some things even a cute accent can't make precious, such as "I was featured as the voice of a Snatcher on the Harry Potter video game!!").

The next day we went to almost every site that Rome has to offer. St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Museum, Colesseum, Pantheon, Circus Maximus, and so much more. We decided to a hop-on, hop-off bus because the sites are so spread out in Rome, which turned out to be such a good idea. We were up from 6 AM going to see the sights, but it was completely worth it! The only downside was the heat in Rome- it reminded me of Sevilla. Also I was having an incredibly bad hair day and thought it was okay to wear pigtails...probably biggest faux pas of the trip. We were so tired from all of our sightseeing that we ended up falling asleep for about 12 hours!

My last day in Rome was relaxing, just going out to eat some gelato, get all of my things packed for my late flight out of Rome and into Munich. It's amazing how everything would fit into my suitcase, and when I opened it, it would explode. I can't tell you how many times I was sitting on the top of my suitcase jamming everything shut...but it would all make it to the next destination! Luckily clothes don't weigh that much and I always got through the weight restrictions... :)
